21 Nov 2011 - Presentation of Beeton CC Plans to Council

An exciting and successful session at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday 21 Nov 2011.  The FAB delegation of at least 16 people represented over 1/2 of the audience and had a strong presence.

Ray Osmond delivered a strong presentation that was supported by the emphatic comments of our Council representatives Deputy-mayor Milne and Councillor Norcross.  As a result, Council approved the recommendation to "approve the revised Beeton Community Centre Concept and Site Plan 2011" and to "refer back to staff to research and monitor future grant funding programs" as a part of the seeking of funding sources.

This recommendation will now go to Council for approval at their meeting this Monday night, 28 Nov 2011.  (Public is welcome).   Below are links to the images of plans.

The Grit GEAR TEAR!

On May 15^th 2010 at 9:00 pm. the Loretto Tavern hosted the GRIT“GEAR TEAR”     (hockey dressing relay race). A fun event created to raise money for the new Beeton Arena and show the advantages of using a Grit Hockey Tower bag.

Eight mixed teams (1male &1 female) will dress and undress from street clothes into hockey gear in a relay race format, the fastest couple will win the Grit Athletic Cup and lots of swag. The Grit “Gear Tear” will be sponsored by, Grit Inc and the Loretto Tavern. This competition will be filmed for showing on youtube CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO

Council Meeting: November 16^th

Motion to provide 90% of the estimated $1.4M using development funds was defeated 5-4 in voting (this is to be re-proposed Tue 23rd Nov)
